Kylesa Kicks Off Headlining Tour
(LOS ANGELES, CA) – Kylesa, the melodic punk-metal quintet who released one of the year’s finest metal albums (Static Tensions, Prosthetic Records) are heading out on their first headlining run since the album’s release this spring with the first date set for Sept. 17 in Wilmington, N.C.
Upon release of the band’s fourth album, a wide variety of critics lavished praise upon the Georgians feeling they had reached a new pinnacle as songwriters Laura Pleasants and Philip Cope admittedly broadened their skill set including new vocal arrangements and adding more melodic guitar lines. Revolver awarded Static Tensions four stars, Pitchfork said in a just world “Kylesa would be a household name,” while Spin cleverly referred to the band’s hometown of Savannah while tagging the release as “Midnight in the garden of drop-tuning and evil.” The band has spent the intervening months touring the U.S. with Mastodon and a headlining run through Europe.
