Artist to Watch - Bardo Out of Los Angeles comes a band named Bardo whose music reminds me of The Pretenders, but with a modern edge.  It’s rock music at it’s finest that is built on great musicianship and songwriting, not gimmicks.

Vocalist Leslie King has a great stylistic rage.  She’s able to flawlessly execute on any sound Bardo creates, from punk to country infused pop-rock.e

Talent and great music make Bardo a really exciting band, and there’s not telling just how far they’ll go.

Biography:
The punky pop rock sounds of BARDO come to you from the belly of Los Angeles. Where the rubber meets the spit that slimes the road to the stars. Where the desolate desert touches the sparkling pacific. Where gurus and lawyers do lunch and art and commerce get married and divorced on a daily basis. We spawn from this arena of sun and scum and….we like it here!

BARDO is the creation of front woman Leslie King. Having been in the Los Angeles singer songwriter scene for a number of years, King decided to branch out and follow a long time pull to explore her voice in the rock arena. Although BARDO started as a fun experiment, it soon became a powerful platform for King both as a performer and songwriter. It became clear to her and everyone around her that she had found her home.

Partnering with long time friend and collaborator Rich Jacques (Producer) BARDO’s sound quickly formed and launched onto the rock and roll landscape in 2008 with the release of their first album “Recurring Dream”.

Here, King rediscovers her voice and aptitude for rock and roll as front woman to BARDO, which is, no question, a welcome addition to the rock and roll landscape.

BARDO’s second EP is due out this spring and their new single “You Like Me A Lot” has already hit the market.
