Marcy Playground to Release Previously Unreleased Recordings and B-Sides

(HOLLYWOOD, CA) – Marcy Playground has partnered with EMI Music for the release of Lunch, Recess & Detention, a collection of new recordings (Lunch), previously unreleased gems (Recess), and B-sides (Detention) spanning the band’s entire six-album career. To be released digitally on June 26 and on CD on July 17, Lunch, Recess & Detention includes newly-recorded versions of some of the band’s own songs, including “Sex and Candy,” as well as new Marcy Playground styled covers, including “The Needle and the Damage Done,” “Hallelujah,” and “Whiter Shade of Pale.” The band has written liner notes and track annotations for the new release.

“The call for an album of Marcy extras, b-sides, and rarities began with MP fans on the www.MarcyPlayground.com bulletin boards in and around 2004-2005, but the idea took a back seat to our other album projects, our tours, and all of the other things in our lives… until now, ” said Marcy Playground’s John Wozniak.
