The Save Rock and Roll Tour, featuring Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, and Twenty One Pilots, made a stop at a sold-out Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, September 5, 2013. The floor was packed with fans, many who arrived early in the morning to secure a spot up-front by the stage to be as close as possible to the bands.
The crowd went crazy when Fall Out Boy hit the stage wearing black ski masks. Bassist Pete Wentz’s energy and charismatic stage presence really got the fans pumped up for the set. Patrick Stump sung each song with soulful full-throated passion, and at times the crowd sang even louder. Impressive as each of these individual talents are, it’s apparent the gelling of their personalities and the band’s mission comes together to make the songs soar in concert. Fall Out Boy’s fifth studio album, “Save Rock and Roll”, was released on February 5th of this year and sold 154,000 units in its first week to become the band’s second No. 1 album. The album’s lead single “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)” scored a top 15 position on the charts.
