The Save Rock and Roll Tour, featuring Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco, and Twenty One Pilots, made a stop at a sold-out Mohegan Sun Arena on Thursday, September 5, 2013. The venue started to fill up well before the first band began their set. The floor was packed with fans, many who arrived early in the morning to secure a spot up-front by the stage to be as close as possible to the bands.
Alternative pop duo Twenty One Pilots made their way on stage donning skeleton masks and proved to be a great start to the energetic evening. The two-man band features Tyler Joseph as lead singer and Josh Dun as drummer. Their album “Vessels” was released earlier this year. They concluded their set by saying to the crowd “We’re Twenty One Pilots and we’re the opening band.” The screaming cheers from the crowd were a telling sign that the band is on their way to headlining their own tour very soon.
