The Sick Puppies, a three member rock band from Australia and Los Angeles, performed at Mohegan Sun’s Wolf Den before a full house on Saturday November 9, 2013. The band is touring in support of their fourth album, “Connect,” which was released in July.
With over 15 years together as a band, the Sick Puppies have evolved into an impressive trio. The band performed a tight 14-song set that included a good mixture of older songs, like “Cancer” and “My World”, and new tunes like “There’s No Going Back” and “Connect.” The new material sound great live and many of fans were singing along.
I was surprised when I realized that it had been over four years since I last saw the band perform live. They get better and better each time. Sick Puppies’ live performance is very impressive. Shim Moore has become a formidible frontman who interacts with all the fans. Togeher, Emma Anzai and Mark Goodwin make a pounding and thrashing rhythm section.
