The Green Children Offer Free Download

The Green Children have teamed up with Amazon to offer their brand new single, “Dragons,” as a free download. The European duo, known for their blend of ethereal pop with post-modern dance beats, is featured in the Emerging Artist Playlist for the month of September, where fans can download the track free of charge.

“Dragons” has also received an official music video that can now be seen on YouTube! The newly released music video debuted on top tier destination Windows Media Guide and has received close to 100,000 plays in just a matter of days. The story telling music video reflects their nomadic lifestyle as they search through the forest in desperate need of a cure to fight off a unique disease caused by the bite of a dragon.

The band’s debut release “Dragons” has attracted a number of world renowned DJ’s including Paul Oakenfold and Digital Dog, who have both put their special touches on the upbeat track. “Dragons” will appear on the band’s debut release, Encounter, influenced by a number of musical genres ranging from underground electronica to alt-rock and classic pop, available everywhere October 12.

Escape The Fate Self-titled Debut Due November 2nd

(LOS ANGELES, CA) – DGC/Interscope Records rock band Escape the Fate (singer Craig Mabbitt, bassist Max Green, guitarist Monte Money and drummer Robert Ortiz) has revealed that their eagerly anticipated major label debut will be self-titled and unleashed on November 2nd.

Max explains, “We’re making our mark on the world 100% through blood sweat and tears and so we felt we should set it in stone by self titling our album.”

The first track, “Massacre,” from Escape The Fate premiered this weekend on MySpace and received over 200,000 page views in just 48 hours. The pummeling song gives fans an electrifying mouthful of what’s to come. Max offers, “We chose “Massacre” as a street track for the fans because it is full force and us at our peak. Right out the gate it makes you wanna get up and break something!”

The band’s forthcoming third album was produced by Don Gilmore (Bullet For My Valentine, Linkin Park). Escape The Fate blends metal licks with pop melodies and soaring guitar solos with anthemic choruses into an epic sound only hinted at on the band’s previous discs: 2008’s This War Is Ours and 2006’s Dying Is Your Latest Fashion. The album’s rousing first official single, “Issues,” will impact at radio this month.

“There are no more questions about who we are. This album is us, through and through,” says Monte. “Every member has grown, and we’re waving our flag. Welcome to fucking Escape The Fate.” Max adds, “Our record will be the cure for the modern day music epidemic. We are wiping the slate clean and re-writing rock music as you know it!”

Known for their incendiary live shows embracing the raucous Sin City lifestyle, Escape The Fate hits the road this fall as direct support to Bullet For My Valentine.

THE NEW REGIME (singer/multi-instrumentalist/Nine Inch Nails drummer ILAN RUBIN) has just released the video for “Remission Of Guilt,” a new song that’s currently available as a free download on the band’s website (www.thenewregime.com) with submission of an e-mail address. Fans can enjoy the song and video while they’re waiting for the follow-up to 2008’s COUP debut album. The clip was shot in San Diego, CA with director Drew Dorsey.

THE NEW REGIME is a “true solo project” of current Nine Inch Nails and former Lostprophets drummer Ilan Rubin. No mere time-keeper, the adept multi-instrumentalist wrote and recorded every note of bass, drums, guitar, piano, keyboards, and vocals on “Remission Of Guilt,” the new album, as well as the 2008 debut, COUP (COMMAND! Music). The as-yet-untitled sophomore release was written and partially recorded while on tour with NIN, while the remaining work was done immediately after the tour was complete.

About “Remission of Guilt,” ILAN says: “I came up with the initial idea for this song at about the halfway point of completing the second album. Since I had a precise vision as to what I wanted the album to be, I finished the idea for this song and recorded it almost immediately after the album was done. ‘Remission of Guilt’ is probably the most aggressive of all the TNR material to date but still retains the clarity of melody, the detail of harmony and structure, and the execution of musicianship.” While the track is not included on the new album, it is a good preview of what’s to come.

Straight Line Stitch Announce Two Tours

(New York, NY) — STRAIGHT LINE STITCH have announced dates along side both 36 CRAZY FISTS & SOULFLY. Dates will run from mid September through the end of the year. “We are excited and honored to be supporting 36 CRAZY FISTS on their first national headlining run. When we’re out with those boys it feels like home because we know all of them so well and it just makes for a much more fun experience. It’s going to be a party for sure!” says front woman Alexis Brown.

Fences to Release Sara Quin-produced Debut Album September 28th

Fences, the moniker for self-proclaimed fuck up Christopher Manfield, will be releasing its self-titled debut album on September 28th through Onto Entertainment/ADA. The album was produced by Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara fame and recorded in only ten days in a studio in Victoria, BC. The ten songs on Fences carry on the singer-songwriter torch passed down from the likes of Elliott Smith and Townes Van Zandt, while retaining a raw edginess inherited from an old Seattle native, Kurt Cobain.

Fences have previously toured the Northwest opening for the likes of St. Vincent and Mark Kozelek, a testament to the versatility of their music and multi-faceted appeal. Starting in just a few days, Fences will begin a new tour of the Northwest, kicking off at Bumbershoot in Seattle and hitting locations along the west coast in California, Oregon, Washington, and even a quick stop in Vancouver. Kylesa Share New Song From Forthcoming Album

Savannah-based Kylesa have unveiled “Tired Climb,” a new track from their forthcoming Season of Mist debut, Spiral Shadow (Oct. 26 release) on the band’s MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/kylesa).

The band, who recently wrapped up a European tour with Converge, recorded the new album at the Jam Room in Columbia, SC earlier this summer with band member and renowned producer Phillip Cope (Baroness, Withered) once again at the helm.

Kylesa is currently working on a video for “Tired Climb” and will return to the road on Sept. 11 with a performance at Raleigh’s Hopscotch Festival before joining High On Fire and Torche for a five-week US trek. Tour dates are listed below.

Ok Go Launches Fall North American Tour

(Los Angeles, CA) – OK Go, the most downloaded band ever, will launch an extensive North American tour with a performance at the Los Angeles County Fair on October 3rd. Tickets are on sale now. In addition to its headlining dates, the band will perform at the Discover Louisville Festival (10/12) and the PopTech Conference (10/21, Camden, ME), an annual event that convenes a network of visionary individuals in science, technology, design, the corporate and social sectors, entrepreneurship, education and the arts to explore the nature of creative change. OK Go will also perform at the MTV Brazil Music Awards on September 16th.

“This is what happens when you’re the most intelligent, most innovative, and merriest band of miscreants in rock,” said the Tampa Bay Times in a live review. “You’ve already reinvented the concept of the music video, and you’re doing everything you can to reinvent the music industry as a whole. What’s left? Reinvent the concert experience…a multisensory spectacle.” “It’s a visual adventure as much as it is an audio one in the vein of The Flaming Lips,” said Creative Loafing and the Salt Lake City Weekly marveled: “Getting Salt Lakers on the dance floor on a Tuesday is not a task every band is up to, but OK Go did the trick.”

OK Go have partnered with Indaba Music and the Rock Band Network to launch a remix contest for their new single, “White Knuckles.” OK Go encourages fans to get as creative as possible, to not feel afraid to redefine the song in both genre and feeling. The contest will run from September 7th through October 14th. Further details will be available at http://www.okgo.net.

Each week starting Sept 21st, Dave Fridmann, producer of “White Knuckles” and the album Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, will choose his favorite remixes to feature across all OK Go web properties. All featured remixes will also be available for fans to download on the database that accompanies the pre-order for the Nov. 2nd U.S. release, Of the Blue Colour of the Sky (Extra Nice Edition). The grand prize winner will be announced on October 29th and will have his/her remix mastered and made available for download in Rock Band. The grand prize winner will also receive a gaming console, a copy of Rock Band 3, and a set of Rock Band instruments to jam with friends to their winning remix.

“White Knuckles,” the follow-up single to the Top 30 hit “This Too Shall Pass,” will impact at Alternative and AAA radio on September 14th. The album received 4 ½ stars from Alternative Press, while Spin hailed it as “ambitious” and absolutepunk.net pronounced it “wholly triumphant.” At mid-year, mtv.com‘s Kyle Anderson named Of the Blue Colour of the Sky “the best album of the year (so far)…at the same time incredibly polished and casually chaotic – a fantastically vibrant, surprising combination. I’ve been listening to the album for six months and am still discovering things about it.”

The band’s second video for “This Too Shall Pass,” is a Rube Goldberg machine created by OK Go and Syyn Labs engineers, and is the #1 Top Rated (All Time) music video on YouTube.

OK Go – comprising Damian Kulash, Tim Nordwind, Dan Konopka and Andy Ross – recently contributed a track to the compilation album Dear New Orleans…, which benefits New Orleans-based non-profits working to support the region’s culture and community.
