Following up 2009’s Ray Guns Are Not Just The Future, the acclaimed band’s third full-length album is a love letter to famed “rock and soul” duo Hall & Oates that features eight classic covers along with one new original song “Heard It On The Radio.”

As the no-nonsense album title implies, the bird and the bee’s feelings about Hall & Oates aren’t framed with a wink or a cocked eyebrow. Their love for this music is genuine. “There’s definitely no irony,” insists Kurstin. “They’re great songwriters and these are great songs.” Getting inside the songs only heightened their appreciation for the original recordings. “It was exciting to discover what an amazing singer Daryl Hall is,” says George.

Kurstin is currently nominated for Producer of the Year at the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards for his work with the bird and the bee and Lily Allen’s album It’s Not You, It’s Me. The awards will take place this Sunday, January 31 in Los Angeles.
