Korn Return to U.S. for Tour

(New York,NY) – Earlier this month (Wednesday, April 11), KORN garnered one of the greatest accolades in metal with winning the REVOLVER Golden God Award for “Album of the Year,” presented by Marshall Amplification, for The Path Of Totality (Roadrunner). The win, determined by fan generated votes, leads into the band’s third leg of their “Path of Totality” tour, launching this Friday, April 20 at Lonestar Amphitheater in Lubbock, TX.

It finds the band hitting several cities and amphitheaters, which will be a mix of headlining shows and festival dates. Openers on the tour include frontman JONATHAN DAVIS DJing as his alter ego, J Devil as well as dubstep talent Sluggo. Ticket information found at korn.com.

Korn Announce Second Leg of Tour Dates

(New York, NY) – Fresh off the hugely successful first leg of dates in support of their recently released album The Path of Totality, Korn are returning to the road for the second leg of the Path of Totality Tour. The new batch of dates kick off on February 23 in Detroit, running through the Midwest before heading back West and wrapping up on March 4 in San Francisco. Kill the Noise will provide support on certain dates, while Korn’s own Jonathan Davis will also debut his brand new DJ set as his J Devil alter ego.

Special pre-sale tickets and VIP packages will be available starting Wednesday, January 18 at 3 PM local time at www.korn.com. Tickets for most shows go on sale to the general public this weekend.

Korn To Release Tenth Studio Album ‘The Path of Totality’ on December 6th

(New York, NY): Korn announced today that they will release their tenth studio album, The Path of Totality on December 6. But this is unlike any Korn record. It’s even unlike any record released before.

The Path of Totality is an experimental album which finds Korn shifting gears and exploring new territory. That should hardly come as a shock to the band’s diehard fans, as Korn exploded onto the scene in the’90s and established themselves as hard rock game changers from that point on.

For The Path of Totality, the band collaborated with some of the leading dubstep and electronic producers in the world, including Skrillex, Excision, Datsik, Noisia, Kill the Noise, and 12th Planet. The result is something completely new, yet utterly and definitively Korn. Leave it to a band like Korn to continue to reinvent itself two decades deep into its career.

“The title The Path of Totality refers to the fact that in order to see the sun in a full solar eclipse, you must be in the exact right place in the exact right time,” Korn frontman Jonathan Davis explained. “That’s how this album came together. I think all the producers feel the same way. I’m not sure it could ever happen again.”

The band’s recent (and much lauded) collaboration with dubstep’s hottest producer, Skrillex, titled “Get Up!,” was the surprise rock hit of the summer, the buzz of which started in Coachella’s dance tent in April 2011, when Jonathan and Munky joined Skrillex on stage for a show stealing unannounced performance of the song.

That performance generated the start of a deafening buzz. The track has sold over 150,000 downloads, while the lyric video has generated nearly two million views and counting. The song was a top 10 rock radio hit.

Added James “Munky” Shaffer: “Get Up” started as a bit of an experiment, but we had such an amazing response from our fans and had such a great time collaborating that a full album of tracks came together in a couple of months. We couldn’t wait to get to the studio every day to finish the next song.”

Some of the song titles from The Path of Totality are: “Narcissistic Cannibal,” “Burn the Obedient,” “Illuminati,” “Kill Mercy Within” and “Chaos Lives In Everything.”

The album will be released in two configurations: as a standard 11-song CD and a special edition CD that will include bonus tracks as well as a DVD of The Encounter, a full-length video concert of Korn’s mind-blowing, once-in-a-lifetime performance in the middle of a 900-foot long crop circle in a wheat field in Bakersfield. The complete concert, previously seen last year on TV and online in an abbreviated form, will be offered in its entirety to those who purchase the deluxe version.

Additionally, today Korn announced that the first leg of their “Path of Totality (P.O.T.)” tour will play key ballrooms and feature dubstep DJ’s Datsik and Downlink, as well as young upstart Dutch Dub-rockers Dope D.O.D. Expect a groundbreaking experience unlike any other Korn tour.

Tickets to some of the shows go on sale this weekend to the general public, but pre-sale and brand new VIP packages are available starting Wednesday at noon ET exclusively at korn.com.

2011 Rock On The Range Line-up Announced

ROCK ON THE RANGE is celebrating its Fifth Anniversary! America’s premier destination rock festival – May 21-22 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio – will feature a spectacular lineup of rock heavyweights including A Perfect Circle (first performance of 2011), Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Korn, Stone Sour and Staind (first performance in two years). The unforgettable weekend will also be highlighted by performances from Danzig, Hollywood Undead, Bullet For My Valentine, Black Label Society and Alter Bridge. In addition, Juliya of Fuse TV will return as the Mistress of Ceremonies for the event.

“Three years ago my other band Ashes Divide was fortunate enough to play Rock On The Range as a support act; to return to the same festival and headline this year with A Perfect Circle is truly an honor,” says Billy Howerdel of A Perfect Circle.

Music As A Weapon Tour Kicks Off January 14th

As announced last month, Korn and Disturbed, two of rock’s biggest acts, are teaming up to co-headline this year’s “Monster Energy Music As A Weapon V Tour.” With the first half of dates on sale now and off to a scorching start, the highly successful Monster Energy’s MAAW V Tour has added even more dates and new markets: a second leg from March 8^th through March 30^th that will include stops in Las Vegas, Texas, the West Coast and many more.

Jonathan Davis of Korn and David Draiman of Disturbed on how the 45 city trek across America came about:

“We’ve both just finished great tours. We headlined Mayhem and Disturbed headlined Uproar. The Disturbed guys came out to see us play in Chicago and we got to talking about doing something together. We both agreed that as cool as those types of tours are, they usually only hit major markets, and we both agreed that a lot of our fans just don’t live in those cities- so we thought it would be cool to team up, put a big show together, and hit every great place that those big tours never get to. Besides all that, with us and Disturbed together, doing full shows with full production…all I can say is IT’S ON!” said the excited Korn frontman.

“We are thrilled to launch the Monster Energy Music As A Weapon V Tour with our good friends from Korn,” says Disturbed singer David Draiman. “Every year we try to up the ante, and this year, by having Korn co-headline, we really think it’s going to be our best tour yet. When the idea first came up, one of the main things both bands agreed upon and wanted to focus on was hitting a lot of smaller markets. It’s exciting to bring a show like this to cities that are usually skipped over on some of the other larger rock tours that only hit the major markets. We have a lot of loyal fans in these cities and we wanted to bring them a show that they deserve”.

Tickets for the first leg of the tour are on sale now and tickets for select dates on the second leg go on sale this weekend. The bands have decided that the first 1,000 tickets from each show will be sold at a $5 discount during the on-sale weekend to reward early ticket-buying fans.

“A lot of promoters only offer discounted tickets a day or two before the actual show date. We wanted to do something for the fans that are buying their tickets as soon as they go on sale. To offer a discount upfront made the most sense to us,” adds Disturbed guitarist Dan Donegan.

“We’re tired of promoters offering discounted tickets to last minute folks in order to sell the seats in the back of the gig. We’d rather give our fans a discount for buying early,” said Korn guitarist James “Munky” Shaffer.

On August 31st, 2010, Disturbed released their fifth studio album Asylum, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard album chart. Asylum is the band’s fourth consecutive studio album to debut at No. 1, a feat achieved by only two other rock groups in history: Metallica and the Dave Matthews Band. (NEW YORK, NY) – In what promises to be the hottest tour of winter 2011, Korn and Disturbed, two of rock’s biggest acts, are teaming up to co-headline this year’s “Monster Energy Music As A Weapon 5 Tour.”

Jonathan Davis of Korn and David Draiman of Disturbed on how the 45 city trek across America came about:

Korn To Appear on Lopez Tonight

(New York, NY) – KORN will perform for the first time on Lopez Tonight on August 24. The show, hosted by comedian George Lopez, airs at 11 PM ET on TBS. The band will perform their brand new single, “Let the Guilt Go.” This is the second single off Korn’s latest album, Korn III - Remember Who You Are, which entered the charts at # 2 on July 20 and is in stores now.

Korn will be joined onstage for the performance by the latest addition to their touring band, guitarist Wes Geer (formerly of the So Cal band Hed Pe).

The band recently wrapped up the summer’s most successful rock tour in the U.S. as the closing headline act for the third annual Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. The 30 city tour of major U.S. markets averaged 15,000 attendees per show and was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise tough concert season.

Korn will head to Europe following their latest late night TV appearance to further enact global domination.
