First up is Scott Weiland with two cuts from his holiday album, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Weiland, out of his element and overly ambitious, will sure make you feel like it’s the morning after the office holiday party… hangovers and dry-heaves for everyone!

Lady Gaga released A Very Gaga Holiday, which includes the tracks “White Christmas,” “Orange Colored Sky,” “Yoü And I” and “The Edge Of Glory.” Notice that only one track is an actual holiday song? The following top touring artists have joined the cause and have committed to avoid the use of fuel sold by BP or its affiliates on their upcoming tours for 2010: Disturbed, Lady Gaga, Rise Against, Godsmack, Backstreet Boys, Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, Slightly Stoopid, Rob Zombie, Megadeth, Black Label Society with Zakk Wylde, Anthrax, Creed, Filter, Hellyeah and Flogging Molly.

“This is the worst thing that has ever happened to the environment in U.S. history. From everything we’re hearing about now, it’s become clear that BP cut corners to put profit ahead of safety. The message we are sending should tell all the oil companies to spend the money and take the necessary precautions to make sure this doesn’t happen again,” said Jonathon Davis of KORN. “I’m really proud that this many artists have already come on board, and I hope more will join soon.”

First estimates show close to 100 vehicles, trucks and buses from the committed artists will be involved in the boycott this summer. The number is continuously growing, resulting in tours all across North America refusing to fill up with BP products. More touring artists and people throughout the continent are uniting in boycotts against BP as a result of the catastrophic oil spill.

Some summer festival tours like The Rock Star Energy Drink Mayhem Festival are already known for using biofuels. However, the entire festival, comprised of twelve bands, will promise to not purchase their biofuels from BP or any of their affiliates. Tour creator Kevin Lyman agrees, stating “We have so many friends that are now affected by this spill that unless BP spends whatever is needed their livelihoods are lost forever. To that end we are encouraging everyone we deal with to find alternative ways to get down the road this summer.”

It’s been fifteen years since the New Kids on the Block last played in Providence, Rhode Island. The fans may be a little bit older, but they’re also a lot louder than they used to be. The house was packed with ravenous screaming fans.

Lady Gaga started the night off. The sound and lighting were great from the opening note. She worked the stage well add easy kept everyone’s attention with her great vocal performance and her alluring stage presence. I had never seen her perform before, and was instantly hooked. Her music is infectious and really makes you want to move.

Natasha Bedingfield had a lot of energy on stage. She seemed very comfortable onstage and interacted quite a bit with the crowd and her band. She effortlessly belted out all her familiar tunes. I seemed like her set ended too quickly, because the entire crowd was completely enthralled and wanted to hear more.

But the real fun was just getting started. As the new kids rose up from below the stage, the crowd erupted in screams and cheers. The decibels reached a level I have never heard before (and I’ve been to many, many concerts). Many in the crowd were adorned with giant NKOTB pins, NKOTB pink jackets, NKOTB T-Shirts, etc.. The crowd was a diverse mix. Many of the women who were fans back in the ’80′s are now bringing their daughters to see the show.

Since the boys were close to home, they made many references to the home teams; Patriots and Celtics, which got the crowd going even more. They also did a tribute to those who were lost, flashing images on the screen of lost family members and entertainers like Aaliyah, Curt Cobain, Frank Sinatra, Lisa Lopez, and others. While they performed the song “Grown Man” from their new album The Block, they also had the Pussycat Dolls up on the screen. It added a lot or flair to an already spectacular show.

During their set they also switched to playing in the back of the arena. Once the crowd realized what was going on, the entire sea of people rushed toward the other end like a tsunami. They performed many of their trademark dance moves throughout the night, but with some new twists and turns added. I especially liked watching Danny start to break-dance at one point. It was clear that NKOTB did a lot of work to get ready for this tour. Their performance was well polished and the crowd loved it.
