Secondhand Serenade Returns With Acoustic EP

Today marks the official release of Weightless – a new collection of five acoustic songs from Secondhand Serenade (aka singer/songwriter John Vesely) – which include “You and I” from his most recent full length release Hear Me Now, and a cover of the Neon Trees song “Animal.” The new EP marks a return to Vesely’s roots as an acoustic songwriter, and was self-produced alongside longtime drummer Tom Breyfogle at his home studio in Los Angeles, CA. Mixed by F. Reid Shippen (Death Cab For Cutie, A Fine Frenzy, Cage The Elephant, The Jonas Brother), these tracks are available in digital format only and can be ordered from iTunes and Amazon now.

Originally signing with Glassnote Records after reaching the top spot on MySpace’s Unsigned Artists Chart in 2006, Secondhand Serenade’s self-produced, acoustic debut Awake was re-released in February of 2007. Fans soon gravitated to John’s heart-on-his-sleeve approach and with the release of 2008′s A Twist In My Story and 2010′s Hear Me Now, Secondhand Serenade became a full band for the first time, pushing John from internet phenomenon to budding rock star.

Secondhand Serenade’s new video for “Something More” debuted on MTV Hits & MTVu last week. You can watch the video HERE. “Something More” is the lead single from Secondhand Serenade’s third album, Hear Me Now, which comes out Tuesday, August 3rd. Starting today, fans can get an exclusive first listen to Hear Me Now on MySpace. The entire album is streaming HERE. AOL’s teen website JSKY premiered Secondhand’s new song “You and I” yesterday, stream it on their site HERE and AbsolutePunk.Net debuted “Stay Away” HERE.

Eight of the eleven songs on Hear Me Now were produced by Aaron Johnson (The Fray) at Swing House studios in Los Angeles. The other three, including “Something More”, were produced by John Vesely himself along with Secondhand drummer Tom Breyfogle at Vesely’s home studio and mixed by Mark Endert (Train, Maroon 5).

Secondhand Serenade is currently on a headlining tour across the United States with support from White Tie Affair & Runner Runner. Notable shows include a New York City play at the Gramercy Theatre on Tuesday August 10th and Anaheim at House Of Blues on Saturday, September 4th.

Secondhand Serenade Returns with “Hear Me Now”

Secondhand Serenade – singer/songwriter John Vesely – returns with his third album, Hear Me Now, out August 3rd on ILG/Glassnote. Eight of the eleven songs on the album were produced by Aaron Johnson (The Fray) at Swing House studios in Los Angeles. The other three, including the first single, “Something More”, were produced by John Vesely himself along with Secondhand drummer Tom Breyfogle at Vesely’s home studio and mixed by Mark Endert (Train, Maroon 5). “Something More” will debut at 7:40AM on May 17th on Kid Kraddick’s nationally syndicated radio show and will be available at iTunes on June 1st.

A Twist In My Story went on to sell upwards of 250,000 albums and over 2.2 million singles. During that time, Secondhand Serenade performed on Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live and the CBS Early show, sold out headlining shows across the US and toured the UK, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Italy, Portugal and Canada.
